Truthful Leadership
Many Executive Leaders in the world today lack the tact for transparency and opt instead for an altered reality of what really needs to be communicated to others (e.g. Boards, Leadership Teams, employees, customers, peers, students, athletes, constituencies, etc.). The ensuing environment from a non-transparent, semi-truthful leader can open the door to a toxic environment where trust and loyalty run thin – as well as the bottom line. Learn more

Without Pride
Pride is one of those words that in modern times has been so watered down that it is often misused and misunderstood. Common misuses today include: “I pride myself on”, “we’re so proud of”, and “they’re proud to be”. Common misunderstandings today include: “it’s good to have pride in something or to be proud of someone”, “one’s pride doesn’t hurt one’s relationships others”, and “pride is good”. Nothing truly great can ever be accomplished in our personal or professional lives with pride. Many people have forgotten what pride is and how toxic it is in all things – but, especially in Executive Leadership. Learn more

All Things Are Possible
Most have heard the occasional motivational saying or two – like “attitude is everything”, “hustle beats talent”, “whether you think you can or you can’t, you’re right”, etc. Vince Lombardi once said, “Show me a good loser and I’ll show you a loser”. He knew all to well the old adage, “whatever you focus on is exactly what you’ll get”. Attitudes and perspectives affect every single area of our lives and, often, the lives of those around us. And great Executive Leaders all have one thing in common – that’s a positive, can-do, and realistic attitude or, better yet, perspective. But, don’t take our word for that, and see what others have to say… Learn more

Giving Thanks
In the “Corporate World”, employees and shareholders are often working hard at a frantic pace towards improving the bottom line. The focus is typically on things like monthly, quarterly, and year-end closes, share price, valuations, new product/process innovations, launches, industry events, quality, pricing, margins, sales, etc. It is an environment that can be highly-stressful at times as far too many Executive Leaders (and their employees) get caught-up in the corresponding frenzy that ensues. But, truly great Executive Leaders are the ones who put other people first – including employees, customers, and the Board. Learn more

Perspective Is Everything
“Unfortunately, we live in a society bent on nursing old wounds and highlighting what is wrong with just about everything. As a result, we have grown accustomed to viewing the world, our lives, and ourselves through a lens of negativity and that negativity stands in direct contrast to the passionate, purpose-filled people God wants us to be.” Tommy Newberry (Author “The 4:8 Principle“). True Diversity
“If you can hire people whose passion intersects with the job, they won’t require any supervision at all. They will manage themselves better than anyone could ever manage them. Their fire comes from within, not from without. Their motivation is internal, not external.” Stephen R. Covey (Author “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People“). Learn more

Graceful Termination
Few things in life that can be more debilitating than losing a job – regardless of whether via an individual termination or a mass lay-off. Many of us understand directly what it’s like to be terminated by a former employer whether you’re on the delivering or receiving side of the equation. The silver lining is that everything happens per God’s plan and perspective really is everything. Learn more
