The Dry Erase Board

I am sure that I’m not the only one to ever write with a permanent marker on a dry-erase board.  While not everyone has done it, we’ve all walked-up to a dry-erase board, grabbed whatever marker(s) was there, and began to write – without thinking.  We don’t usually check the markers that we grab to check that we are using the “right” kind of marker for the board.  How often do we make choices in life without thinking about them?  I mean really thinking about them.  How God might think about them.  We move quickly about the business of our day without litmus-testing the choice first with Him.  Like when we grab the “wrong” kind of marker to write on the dry-erase board, sometimes we make the “wrong” kind of choice for ourselves and others.  We go on instinct and just keep on “writing” based on what we know.  But, we are finite and He is infinite.  We can never think exactly like God, but we are encouraged to think like Him.  “If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.” James 1:5  The Good News is that even when we don’t check the markers or with God on our choices, he will still grab the eraser and wipe away our sins.  Jesus’ blood on the cross is an Eternal “eraser” for each and every one of us.  When we hold on to old, crusty sins in our life, we are “choosing” to use the “permanent marker” on our sins.  In Heaven and in Christ, there are no “permanent” sins that can’t be wiped away.  “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the former things have passed away.”  Revelation 21:4  There is a great song by Jeremy Camp, “There Will Be a Day” – I encourage you all to listen to the song and consider the Words – they are Scriptural.
